Why it’s important: CCEDUC was founded to support orphans and vulnerable children through education, care and related support. Ensuring children have strong learning support helps break cycles of poverty and increases empowerment and future options.

Opportunities

Classroom support & tutoring: Volunteers help in classrooms – supporting teachers, doing one‑on‑one tutoring for children who are behind, assisting with reading, writing, mathematics.

Supplemental / enrichment programmes: Volunteers can lead or assist in after‑school clubs (ICT, arts, English conversation, numeracy) to enhance learning outcomes.

Teacher training / mentoring: Volunteers with experience in education can help train or mentor local teachers in classroom management, ICT integration, etc.

Resource development & library support: Assist CCEDUC in building and maintaining a small resource centre or library.

Volunteer‑led workshops for children: Short workshops on study skills, life-skills, encouraging children to stay in school.

Volunteer requirements & tips: Typical volunteers should commit a minimum period (2–3 months), attend training/orientation on child protection, local culture, teaching basics, and partner with CCEDUC staff for effective integration.

Livelihood Volunteer

Why it’s important: Livelihood support helps move families beyond survival and into sustainable income and empowerment. Sustainable livelihoods complement education and health work.

Vocational skills teaching / mentoring: Volunteers skilled in sewing, tailoring, ICT, business basics, agriculture can run short courses or mentoring for youth and adults.

Entrepreneurship workshops: Help small business ideas get off the ground: bookkeeping, savings groups, marketing, product design.

Micro‑enterprise support / savings & credit groups: Assist CCEDUC in forming or supporting savings groups or micro-businesses.

Job‑readiness and mentoring: Support youth in preparing for employment: CV writing, interview skills, work placements.

Community skills clubs: Establish clubs in the community around a trade or skill.

Volunteer requirements & tips: Volunteers should have relevant skills or willingness to learn, focus on local capacity building, ensure cultural sensitivity, and encourage measurable outputs.

Environmental Volunteer

Why it’s important: Environmental sustainability helps communities manage natural resources, adapt to changes, and protect surroundings. Youth engagement builds leadership and responsibility.

School-based environment clubs: Establish clubs where students volunteer in school gardens, composting.

Community Health Volunteer

Why it’s important: Healthy children and adults are essential for learning, livelihoods, and overall community well-being. Health underpins all other areas and strengthens CCEDUC’s impact.

Health education/outreach: Run sessions on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, disease prevention, maternal & child health, behavior change.

Support for health screening/camps: Organize community health fairs, vision, dental, WASH activities.

Psychosocial support / mentoring: Volunteers with counselling skills support vulnerable children/families.

Health and wellness club in schools: Student-led health clubs focused on peer-education and healthy lifestyles.

WASH projects: Assist in building/maintaining latrines, water points, hygiene campaigns.
